Class C amplifiers

Hit Counter

Class "C"
Class C topology is like class A, the difference being that L&C resonant at high frequencies. where distortion is not a factor
Advantages
Very efficient for RF applications.
Disadvantages
This topology is not yet used in Audio-Frequencies designs, but could b used as a resonant audio amplifier or carrier modulation for security systems.
Conclusions and comments
Class C topology is the most efficient design for RF applications, efficiency is up 75% but distortion is very high
