IGBT MOSFETS Comparison

IGBT-MOSFET Comparison
IGBT Requires less Die area to maintain similar or better specifications on high current and high voltage applications.
Package size is reduced as a result of the die size.
Cost depends on die size, then IGBT’s offer an attractive solution over High voltage MOSFETs for switching frequencies up to 100 kHz.
I&R offers a new series of IGBTs called WARP speed IGBTs which perform similar to MOSFETs for 100 kHz applications.
IGBT technology advancements have substantially improved voltage drop and Fall time.
Conclusion
IGBT are well suitable for high voltage and high current applications like PFC, or High power converters.
